I know we need rain.. but after a gloomy few days the sunshine today was FABULOUS… I have logged 25 miles for the week in my training for the SML Triathlon… On the days I run outside and the weather is mild I have been wondering when the friendly butterflies I grew attached to would be back.. and today as I was about 3.5 miles into my run there a giant black and yellow butterfly was.. I reached out as if to touch it but didn’t of course.. just gave it a little wave… butterflies are special to me because when my Grandma Davidson passed away February 13th 2007.. it was a very painful time for me.. many of you know she suffered many years from Alzheimer’s… shortly… once I started running seriously.. somewhere along the run a butterfly or two would flutter by me at some point during the run…
I grew to think of those flying creatures as loving reminders of my grandma.. like she was there with me.. I know she is here with me butterflies or not but still it made me smile today…
Other signs that spring is almost here for good… two motorcycles I passed on the way into work… I personally am not a huge fan of them for me but when I see other people riding them they seem to have such an air of confidence and peace… convertibles.. several people had their tops down on cars enjoying the sun’s warmth first hand and making the most of that top that probably hasn’t been down much since this past fall…
Hope you had the chance to enjoy it because Jeff’s forecast shows this latest sun and warm temperatures may have to tide us over for a little while…
