I’m not sure about you but I love a cup of coffee in the morning.  It doesn’t have to be gourmet or fancy.  Some of my favorite coffee is what I call “diner” coffee.  It always has a smooth pleasant flavor without a bitter after taste.  But, my problem is I not only love it in the morning but in the afternoon on my way into work and sometimes… like now when I sit at my computer looking through scripts for the 11:00pm news… trust me it is doesn’t help me get to sleep after work but there is something about it that is soothing.

I consider it a multi-faceted pick me up.  It not only gives you a little boost of energy but it also comes in different flavors of desserts that are so absolutely guiltlessly wonderful in the java form.  Right now , I am enjoying “butterscotch brulee.” I stood in the check out line at T.J. Maxx smelling all of the different flavors.  I know I looked a little sillly but when I got to this one I thought, “I could eat this with a spoon” and had to have it…

Coffee is a little pick me up for everyone.  Whenever one of us is making “special” coffee we alert those around us who we know will get a small thrill knowing fresh tasty coffee will be ready in just a few minutes.

I know it probably isn’t the greatest thing for me… I used to be able to drink a coffee or soda and then immediately take a nap if need be… the older I get the more it affects me.  I probably should have opted for half a cup tonight.

Sometimes people would question my coffee habits because I am a pretty energetic person without it.

Today, my hairstylist looked at my travel mug and said, “Is there caffeine in that cup?  Perhaps I should empty it and refill it with water.”

What can I say… sometimes it’s the little things that make us feel good.
