As I listen to Jeff giving his recent forecasts it is starting to sink in that we may actually be turning the corner on the temperatures… It seems like it has been forever since last spring… but with the trees in bloom… my tulips coming up for the second year and mild breezes.. it doesn’t feel like someone has flipped the switch but someone definitely has their hand on a dimmer switch and it just keeps getting brighter.

I have been really trying to find opportunities to enjoy the fresh air around me… walking on Wiley Drive with a co-worker… today instead of trying to find a parking spot downtown… I got to work a little early and then walked to the Kiwanis Club of the Roanoke Valley luncheon…. I was honored to be the speaker at the gathering and welcome the opportunity to share information about what we do at WSLS… and why I am so proud to be a part of this team… I look around our news room and see so many hardworking smart people who really have significant community connections and work very hard to take our news reporting to “the next level”

Everyone was so nice and welcoming at the lunch meeting then afterward I changed into my running shoes and walked to the local coffee shop before walking back to the station… It started raining but I was prepared and didn’t even care… after talking to such a great group and getting a nice hot cup of coffee for the walk back it was a treat…
