Waking up to go outside is a lengthy process.

Luckie dog came to my home when he was 3 years old… a former pet of the week… we feature pets from the Roanoke Valley SPCA during our noon news casts on Fridays…
I don’t know much about his first three years but his last 9 have been pretty good… I wanted to share these pictures because I just thought they were cute… when I get home from work in the evening… sometimes Luckie greets me to go outside for his last pit stop of the night.. but other times he is sleeping so soundly I have to walk upstairs… gently wake him and carry him downstairs… then like a person he wakes up gradually (this has gotten more pervasive as he has gotten older)
He lays in a position we call “super-dog” with his hind legs straight out… before doing the super-dog he usually stretches back on his hind legs...then he flops down and during his routine last night I couldn’t help but snap a picture of him yawning.. as I leave for work after our walk in the afternoon it makes me happy to see him sleeping so soundly..with his little lip curled up like he is having happy dreams.. the unconditional love that comes from a pet is such a wonderful thing…
