The term has been tossed around a lot lately with the promise of a possible government “rebate” but I say it helps me to shop around even if I don’t buy much of anything.  I don’t like to spend money on things I don’t need but I do like to browse around and see what’s new.

I am not the kind of person who jumps full wallet onto a fashion trend but if I find something that does the trick for a fraction of the cost I might try it.  It is nice to see viewers out when I am out shopping.  The other evening two highschool kids wanted to use their cell phone camera to take a picture of me with them because they recognized me from WSLS.  I am flattered when people enjoy our product and I am always open to feedback.

Tonight on dinnerbreak I just wanted about 45 minutes where I didn’t have to think too much.. and I got it.  I spent a long time in one store just trying on shoes… looking for pillow shams for a spare bedroom… checking out the clearance isles and letting any stress of the day flow through my fingertips as they lightly gripped the brightly colored shopping cart.

By the time I looked at my watch and it was time to head back to work I looked in my cart and what did I have to show for it?

A bag of dog treats for our tride and true one eared beagle at home, three white hand towels for our downstars bathroom, and a simple card for my husband for Valentine’s Day.  Even though it doesn’t seem like I accomplished much the “retail therapy” was priceless.
