For those of you who have been following along with our dog saga of sorts at home… between Luckie and Cushings Disease and he seems to be winning the battle except for the early morning wake up scratches at the door for us… he used to sleep until 6:00or 6:30AM and that was okay but now with the hour earlier - it doesn’t give Matt enough time to go to sleep before getting back up for work and it only gives me about 5 hours of uninterupted sleep…
My mom says Luckie is trying to prepare us for the possibility of children… I guess I should keep in mind with kids there is a lot more to the wake-up call than opening the door… gettting his food in a bowl… letting him come back in to eat it and then another quick trip out.. then it’s back to sleep…
Part of our selfish frustration comes at the fact that our little buddy will go back to sleep after the early morning wake-up and sleep solid and soundly for hours… the snoring sometimes is a strong as rumbles of thunder… am I happy that he is comfortable? Of course… but not sure what if anything can be done to get him to sleep in just a little longer in the morning…I tried walking him for a couple of laps around the driveway last night when I got home from work.. he enjoyed it and I thought perhaps it may add a few minutes to his overnight sleep… he woke up at 5:21AM.. but I still love him.
