It seems spring has barely begun yet some of the first signs are already fading… we have beautiful Bradford Pear trees that line our driveway and it was such a treat to see the buds form and then one day we woke up and they looked beautiful… it was a sign of spring.. it seems like that was just a day or two ago… yet on my way home from a run yesterday our driveway was covered with a blanket of white… it looked like snow had fallen… but it was just hundreds dare I say thousands of petals from the once pristine trees…
Then I started to notice all of the Bradford Pears that I see on my drive into work weren’t near as vibrant in their white cloudy look.. the green is beginning to show through again and soon there will be no sign of their blooming at all… as “sad” as that is there is still plenty of room for “growth” - there are green sprouts coming up where my tulip bulbs were gently placed a couple of years ago… I am excited about those and the azaleas out front… I planted a white one in the line of pink shrubs we have out front in memory of my grandma and have not yet seen them all bloom at once… Matt did mow the yard for the first time a couple of days ago and that reminded me that not only are we in the full swing of spring but summer isn’t too far off…
The weekend is looking pretty good especially Sunday… hope you have the chance to get out and enjoy.. whether it’s working in the yard or just taking a walk… life it too short to let the little gifts go without notice..
