It was so nice out I ran not once but twice today just to enjoy the fresh air. The first was this morning before work where as we have discussed in past blogs I got my fill of wildlife for the day. Three big turkeys trotted across the road in front of me as I was getting close to the end of my jog.
Then, I e-mailed a couple of co-workers to see what they were doing on dinner break and we decided to go for a jog outside. The weather was great. I mean a real spring tease. Jeff says the rain is coming in tomorrow afternoon. I don’t know about you but I am really getting excited about the weather change that is inevitable.
This coming weekend we are already springing forward with the time change. I know people are sad to lose the hour of sleep but I am excited to gain some daylight. Today was so sunny and beautiful I just felt like the sun was almost a little dose of medicine. I have lamented a little about our lack of snow. It seems like we haven’t had much of a winter in a while now. I have pictures on our wall from when we first bought our house four years ago and there was snow on the ground. Matt, Luckie and I all played in it like children and the pictures reflect that fun day but there haven’t been many like it since.
I am not much of a snow skiier so I don’t miss it for that reason but there is something pristine about the way a landscape looks cloaked in what looks like a sheet of white for as far as the eye can see… only to be broken up by the roads that have been cleared… streams or lakes and houses that only collect the light flaky water on deck railings and roofs… I don’t only like the warm weather but I guess I just feel like we have drawn out the cold season long enough.. and if I can’t get the storybook picture from above I would rather have the birds chirping and flowers budding that always come with spring… now the allergies that come with it.... I could do without them..
