Have you ever wanted something so bad… something you believed in your heart was meant to be.. but then ended up disappointed when things didn’t work out.  I think this has happened to everyone at some point.

If it hasn’t happened to you it has happened to someone you care about.  How do we deal with disappointment?

Over my life there have been moments when I was crushed… that I didn’t get the job I was hoping for… the promotion I wanted or the relationship I was in didn’t work out the way I had planned.

When I look back at those moments that seemed so tragic I find the blessings in them.  I mean true blessings.  I am married to my best friend… a man who was clearly handpicked by someone greater than me to be my partner in life.

We don’t have as much wisdom when we are in high school and college and we do just by living.

I love my job at WSLS and Southwest Virginia.  Blacksburg is my hometown.  My husband is from Roanoke and there are so many wonderful people and places in our area.  I often wonder why I would have ever looked anywhere else for a job in television.

But even as we grow older and wiser it is sometimes difficult to see the big picture.  But I am sure of God and his plan for me and my loved ones.  I may not always understand it but I always have faith in it.
