I had the pleasure of visiting with WSLS morning achor and friend Juliet Bickford this afternoon… Juliet and I work opposite schedules so we don’t see each other much at work but we are friends and spend time together with mutual friends outside of work.

During our interview today I realized just how much we have in common.  Juliet anchors our morning news cast that airs before NBC’s Today show Monday-Friday.  That was my first job here at WSLS 10 years ago this month!  10 years have gone by and so many members of my WSLS family have come and gone and each time there are emotions felt.

Today, I felt excited for Juliet as she prepares to move back home.  I am from Blacksburg so when I got my job at Channel 10 in Roanoke I had realized my dream job early in my career and Juliet will soon be living that same dream as she moves back home to Norfolk.

As we talked about different experiences and the things we like most about Roanoke and Southwest Virginia I had a renewed sense of thanks for what I have here at WSLS and at my home that is so close to where I grew up.  Although I will miss Juliet I am thrilled that she is getting to be near her family and friends from home.

I will have some specific times for when you can check out the stories I am putting together about Juliet… her time with WSLS and what she will be doing when she leaves in the near future…
