A mid-week Viewers Voice on the topic of the teen beating videotape included a comment from a viewer who thought it was no big deal and a part of growing up – angering this viewer who responds:

(e-mail)
As a father, grandfather and a human being, I am extremely appalled on a commentary that was aired on yesterday’s news report that stated—and I do not quote word for word, but the opinion of one viewer stated basically it was a right of passage to have scrapes and brawls in school and part of being a man? Does that individual have issues that need to be addressed mentally? Not only is it a criminal act, and from the video a very brutal one, and from what I understand from your report this young lady has suffered permanent damage, these individuals that did this to her need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law…

Of the proposed lie-in to protest the so called gun show loophole on April 16th at Virginia Tech, this viewer writes:

This is disgusting. To try to politicize this memorial service is one of the most sickening things I have ever seen.

How appropriate that they call it a “lie-in” from some of the amazing misleading statements that these same groups made to the Virginia Legislature a few weeks back.

Another viewer comes to the defense of WSLS-10’s airing of the news of our recent Peabody Award for coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings.

I’m getting tired of you all being criticized.  John and Karen for the way they do the news.  I depend on you.  I don’t have time to read the newspaper.  And you always keep me abreast of what’s going on … If you had not said anything about the Peabody award, I to this day would no have known about it.  I knew you were going to get something because it was really good.  You’re always good. So just keep up the good work and smile….
