Viewers Voice for 6 p.m. Monday, March 31

Our story on a transgendered man who claims to be 5 months pregnant generated many e-mails from people who wish we hadn’t run the story.  Here’s one example.

...Reporting on a pregnant man who was really a woman posing as a man? If this is all WSLS has to report please just go off the air ! First of all if she’s a he and got pregnant then he had to be sleeping with a he and not a she.... Why then would she want to be a he instead of a she?  This is becoming the Jerry Springer Newscast. Shame on you.

NC-10 responds: Thanks for the comment.  Sometimes a topic is news because it’s important… Sometimes because it’s bizarre. In hindsight, we wish we had noat aired this story.

Another viewer says we have too many graphics and not enough video.

...It seems every story you have has some sort of graphic or writing on it.  You realize, of course, you work in TV, which is a visual medium.  And there is a thing other there called video now. ... Don’t you have a staff to cover anything ... I wish I was watching something else right now.

NC 10 responds:  We have a fine staff of photographers and we include video whenever we have it.  Since television IS a visual medium, we use graphics when we don’t have appropriate pictures.

And finally—kudos for our coverage of the recent Volvo Strike.

I just want to commend you guys on the wonderful coverage that you gave on our recent strike at Volvo.  Your coverage was far better than some of the other that I have seen and heard.  And I just want to say thank you…
