So sad to lose such a wonderful human being! Many of us from Lynchburg knew Thomas Farrell, and respected him deeply. He will be missed. His death reminds us of so many other lives of runners and cyclists taken unnecessarily at the hands of distracted or careless drivers. We need better education and awareness for all drivers. But the first step when we get behind the wheel is to direct ALL of our attention to the road. You might just save someone’s life.

Many others echoed the frustrations people have at curbing traffic and speeding in their neighborhoods.

With all the concerns from local residents over the past 15 years with the dangers of this residential street and nothing was done by Roanoke County - they need to take some of the blame for a local resident having lost his life… This was a good man ...he believed in people, he was a husband, a father, a lawyer who served many. ... My prayers go out to his wonderful family.
Although there is no evidence the guns used in the killing were purchased illegally or via private sale, the triple murder in Grayson County was reason for this viewer to ask for a legal loophole to be closed.

A mandatory element in this story must include where and how this despicable man was able to purchase a gun. Only when we can close down the loophole laws for gun shows and put pressure on the gun shops can we prevent a beast like this murdering three people.
