FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Authorities say they believe one man was responsible for 17 gas station robberies in northern Virginia.
Police say 10 robberies were reported in Fairfax County, and four were in Prince William County. Two holdups occurred in Arlington County and one was in the city of Alexandria. The man used a semiautomatic handgun to rob the gas stations between May and October.
Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned black man in his late 20s, and said that in most robberies he appeared to be wearing wire-framed, clear glasses.
