What’s a marathoner to do next?

My 2nd shift work schedule is typical for some of you but others will ask me, ‘How do you do it’?

For the first time in ages, we took a pet on Christmas vacation.  It seemed so much easier to bring Moose, a 10 pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, than Torch our 80 pound, 11 year old Lab.  For most of the last decade, Torch and the late Brittany, Joe were too big to lug along on these trips.

What is it about the holidays that gives us a feeling of entitlement to baked goods and laziness?  I don’t have the answer to that one, but I do know all we can do is get back on the Low Fat Gravy Train and hang on until spring.
