The Patriots (20-9, 12-5 Colonial Athletic Association) moved into sole possession of second place. They play Northeastern on Saturday in the regular season finale.
William & Mary (14-14, 10-7) erased a seven-point deficit earlier in the half and took a 50-49 lead with 6:05 remaining on Nathan Manns three-pointer. But George Mason scored the next eight points to pull away for its 13th victory in 14 home games this season.
Senior David Schneider scored 19 points for the Tribe (14-14, 10-7).
Campbell, John Vaughan (15 points), Cam Long (12) and Will Thomas (10) scored in double figures for George Mason. Campbell and Thomas, both seniors and members of George Masons Final Four team in 2006, played in their final regular season home game.
