Hokies give Maryland fits before falling in OT

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - The fifth-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team rallied from a 21-point deficit in the first half to beat Virginia Tech 74-71 in overtime tonight.
    Kristi Toliver scored 28 points and Crystal Langhorne scored 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Terrapins. Marissa Coleman had 17 points, and Laura Harper had 8 and 12 rebounds.
    Brittany Cook led the Hokies with 26 points and 14 rebounds, and Andrea Barbour had 24 points.
    The Terrapins, plagued by 25 turnovers, took the lead for the first time when Harper’s layup made it 66-64 with about three minutes left in overtime. Langhorne then hit a layup, and Maryland held on for the win.
