NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Another loss for N.J. Tech.
Kirk Williams scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds last night as Longwood held off the Highlanders for a 78-68 win.
Kraig Peters and Kyle Edwards both scored 16 points to lead N.J. Tech, while Nesho Milosevic added 14 points and six rebounds.
NJIT is the only winless school in Division I and has lost 28 consecutive games. Its last win came against the Lancers on February 19th, 2007.
Longwood was in command for most of the game and led by as much as 23 points in the second half.
But the Highlanders rallied late and eventually cut the lead to 70-62 on Milosevic’s layup with 57 seconds left to play.
Longwood, though, sealed the win by going 8-for-10 from the free throw line in the final 54 seconds.
