BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Chan Black scored 20 points and Number 12
Duke used an impressive defensive showing early on to take command
and went on to a 72-to-60 victory against Virginia Tech, the sixth
loss in the last seven games for the Hokies.
The Blue Devils forced 14 turnovers in the first half and
limited the Hokies to a season-low 20 points. Duke also grabbed 13
offensive rebounds on its way to a 36-to-20 lead, and Tech never
got closer than nine.
The Hokies got 14 points each from Lindsay Biggs and Utahya
Drye.
Duke used a 12-and-0 run in the first half to take a 30-to-15
lead.
Already without second-leading scorer Andrea Barbour, who missed
her third straight game while serving a suspension, the Hokies made
just seven of 25 shots in the first half.
