CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Monica Wright hit the game-winning shot with less than three seconds left in the second overtime period to lift Virginia over Georgia Tech, 103-to-101.
Lyndra Littles set a new career-high with 31 points to lead Virginia.
Emotions ran high at John Paul Jones Arena for what was expected to mark the final appearance at the two-year-old arena for seniors Sharnee Zoll and Tara McKnight.
Zoll finished with 11 assists, eight points and three steals. Zoll, along with fellow classmate Tara McKnight, was honored prior to the game.
Zoll has been a starter throughout her career at Virginia, and recently broke former Virginia star Dawn Staley’s Atlantic Coast Conference career assists record.
McKnight has appeared in 49 games during her career with the Cavaliers.
Virginia moved to 22-and-8 (10-4 Atlantic Coast Conference).
