Winthrop defeats Radford in opener of Big South Conference tourney 76-45

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Antwon Harris scored 14 points to lead Winthrop to a 76-to-45 victory over Radford tonight in the Big South Conference tournament quarterfinals.
The second-seeded Eagles (20-11) advance to Thursday’s semifinals against Number Three seed High Point, while the Highlanders end their season at 10-and-20.
Jamar Jenkins led the Highlanders with 12 points, while Joey Lynch-Flohr added seven points and 12 rebounds.
Winthrop scored the first nine points of the game and never trailed as it tries to win the tournament for the eighth time in the past 10 years.
Winthrop has won 12 straight over Radford, which hasn’t won a Big South tournament game since 2003.
