High School Baseball: GW Danville defeats Patrick County & Hargrave in double header
In the first game, GW slipped past Patrick County in extra innings. In the second game, GW edged Hargrave 5-4 by scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth.

DANVILLE — George Washington defeated Patrick County and Hargrave, both by 5-4 scores, in action at Dan Daniel Park on Monday.
In the first game, GW slipped past Patrick County in extra innings when Dominique Fitzgerald’s base hit with two outs in the bottom of the eighth drove in the winning run.
Travis Coates pitched the last two innings to earn the win. Josh Hackworth pitched the first six. Fitzgerald had three hits, Zach Gibson had two hits, D.J. Pomposini had a double, Andrew Cox had a single and James Feldmann had a base hit and scored twice.
In the second game, GW edged Hargrave 5-4 by scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth.
Feldmann drove in the tying run with two outs and Pomposini doubled him home. Feldmann also scored two runs, Jackson Heard belted a double and Gibson had a hit for GW.
Zach Goodyear, Jimmy Martin and Josh Rogers all batted 2-for-3 for Hargrave. Goodyear and Martin each smacked doubles.
