Carlisle School’s Jamila Harris signs with DII Pfeiffer University

MARTINSVILLE — Danville native Jamila Harris signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for Division II Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C., this fall.
Harris, formerly a George Washington guard who transferred to and plays for Carlisle, a private school that competes in the Blue Ridge Conference, received a full athletic scholarship. The senior averaged 17.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while leading the Chiefs to the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state championship this season. She was named the VISAA Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
She is the younger sister of GW assistant boys basketball coach Jerrod Harris.
