DANVILLE - The George Washington boys and girls basketball teams know they will face a Central Region team later this week, but the matchups are still undecided.
The GW goys (27-0) will face the loser of Monday’s Central Region championship between John Marshall and Petersburg. GW will host its state quarterfinal matchup, but the game will be played at a neutral site - most likely at Averett University’s Grant Center. That game will be played either Friday or Saturday.
The GW girls (22-6) will face the winner of Monday’s Central Region title game between L.C. Bird and Mills Godwin. The Eagles will travel in Richmond for the state quarterfinals, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m.
