A new man will head-up the sports programs at Hidden Valley High School in Roanoke County starting in July.
Current Hidden Valley Athletic Director Dennis Layman plans to retire at the end of June. Current Hidden Valley boys varsity basketball coach Chris Morris will replace Layman.
10 On Your Side Sports Director John Appicello spoke with Layman this afternoon (Tuesday). Layman tells us that Morris has been observing him for some time to see how things work. Layman also says he did not want to make the announcement earlier, because he feared it may distract attention from the boys’ team as they played in the state basketball tournament.
Morris has taken the Titans to the state semi-finals twice in his coaching career.
