The William Campbell girls basketball team defeated Nelson County in opening round of the Dogwood District tournament Monday night. The final score, 42-36.
Shamika Hubbard led William Campbell with nine points and eight steals as the Generals knocked off visiting Nelson County in the Dogwood District quarterfinals.
Rasheeda Crews added seven points and 11 rebounds for William Campbell (13-10). The Generals visit Dan River at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
