Tunstall boys advance to Piedmont District tournament semifinals

BASSETT - Tunstall beat Patrick County 57-51 in the Piedmont District tournament play-in game on Tuesday.
Dustin Cockram led the Trojans (3-16) with 16 points, 15 rebounds and three assists. LaMarcus Adkins added 12 points and seven rebounds and Justin Williams contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
Tunstall will face top-seed Bassett at 6 p.m. Thursday. Magna Vista and Martinsville will play in the other semifinal at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at Bassett. A Tunstall win Thursday would put the Trojans in Saturday’s championship, and a loss would put them in Saturday’s third-place game for a spot in the Region IV tournament.
