(AP) - Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s deal with Adidas includes the development of a new driver’s suit, but that project has been put on hold for now.
Junior just doesn’t seem to dig the designs he has seen so far.
“We would have liked to have the uniform ready for Daytona, but it has to be a done design,“ Earnhardt said. “I don’t want to continue to make alterations to it. If I am not comfortable in it, I don’t want to be racing in it. We have gotten really close over the last month and that thing should be ready by Atlanta or so.“
The debut of Earnhardt’s own Adidas line of clothing is just one aspect of the hype leading up to his Hendrick Motorsports debut.
He’ll also be starring in “Shifting Gears,“ a reality show focusing on the last nine months of his life. The first episode airs Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
“We just gathered all this stuff,“ Junior said. “I had people following me all around.
“It’s just sort of our view and our opinion of everything that went on. I saw the first final version of the show (Thursday) and I liked it a lot.“
