New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw is in jail in southwest Virginia on an undisclosed probation violation, according to a report today in USA Today.
Bradshaw has been held at Southwest Virginia Regional Jail since Sunday.
Bradshaw, 22, originally committed to play football at the University of Virginia. But before classes began his freshman year, he was confronted by campus police after consuming alcohol. He gave them a fake name and ran, and the incident ended with Bradshaw taking a faceful of pepper spray in the shadow of the Rotunda.
He was charged with underage drinking and resisting arrest, and Virginia coach Al Groh dismissed him from the team.
Bradshaw then walked on at Marshall University where, in January 2006, he was charged with stealing a Play Station2 video game system from the unlocked dormitory room of another student. He pled guilty to petty larceny after prosecutors dropped felony burglary charges and was sentenced to two years probation.
