Eric Cobb, PGA professional at Ingleside Resort in Staunton, and Jeff Long, a senior at Old Dominion University, shared the clubhouse lead through the morning wave of the second round of the SunTrust State Open today at Independence Golf Club in Midlothian.

Both have 36-hole totals of 4-under-par 140. Cobb, who first played in a State Open in 1981 when he was 15, followed his first-round 69 with a 1-under 71 today. Long has posted back-to-back 70s.

First-round leader Ted Brown—a professional and former Virginia Commonwealth University standout who shot a 6-under 66 yesterday—is about halfway through his second round, along with several other players high on the leaderboard.
