ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke Catholic football team returns to the VIS state championship game Friday night for the third straight year. Students and faculty gave the Celtics a sendoff before they got on the road to take on Quantico. Roanoke Catholic won the state title in 2013 and fell short in the championship game last year.

"We've had a very good season in my opinion, it's been a fun journey and we hope to finish it off in a positive way against Quantico," said Celtic senior Ethan Wright.

Offensive coordinator and assistant coach Joe Sweeney added, "We're very excited, very motivated, this is a goal that we set at the beginning of the season and we are extremely excited that we have achieved it and we have to win tonight to be satisfied with all of our hard work."

"We've got great support, we've had great support from the school all year long, the fans pack the park at Vineyard Park all year long the fans of been great and the support's been awesome," explained head coach Bob Price.

The VIS state championship game starts at 6pm Friday.
