Charlotte is an award-winning investigative journalist.

In 2013 Charlotte won the regional Edward R. Murrow award for her investigation, "Poison in the Water."

The several month-long WNCN investigation exposed how state government failed to warn families that the water they were drinking could be killing them.  Charlotte uncovered the source of the contamination and revealed state regulators ignored their own evidence of the danger. "Poison in the Water" prompted state legislative change.

Charlotte joined the WNCN news team in 2010 from KETK56 in Tyler, Texas, where she was the weekday morning Anchor and host of "East Texas Live." Before that, she worked as a reporter for KFDX, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she graduated with honors with a bachelor of arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish.

Charlotte caught the investigative journalism bug early in her career when she broke a story that later gained national attention by exposing the federal fugitives running a Texas anti-government group, The House of Israel. While working in Texas, Charlotte uncovered an illegal gambling ring in a series of undercover reports.

Charlotte enjoys reporting stories about people making a difference. At the same time, she's not afraid to ask the tough questions and get to the bottom of an issue. Charlotte's career has taken her from covering Hurricane Gustav to the Air Force to state political races and everything in between.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Charlotte is proud of her Sooner roots but couldn't be happier to call the Triangle her home. When she's not on the air, Charlotte enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and family, and exploring all that North Carolina has to offer.
