Storm Team 9 Forecast

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Good Sunday to you! I'm Meteorologist Patrick Ellis with your STORM TEAM 9 FORECAST FOR EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA: Clouds begin to break up heading into Monday; quick warm up on Tuesday before a chance for rain comes into play.

TONIGHT: Showers will taper early as the low pressure system pulls offshore. Winds will stay up overnight, out of the N/NE at 15 - 25 mph with higher gusts, especially near the coast. Expect skies to stay mostly cloudy into this evening.

MONDAY: Area of low pressure finally loosens its grip on Eastern North Carolina as it pulls out. The northerly breeze will subside late but still be present early. Highs on Monday should manage the mid to upper 60s, if not the lower 70s given enough sunshine. Clouds will be in place to start the day, though they will be rolling out along the low pressure center.

A LOOK AHEAD: Next chance for any significant rain will come late Tuesday into early Wednesday with a weak frontal boundary that has the potential to spark some showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will also be on the up and up into next week, possibly hitting the lower 80s by Friday and Saturday.  For more weather details, check out Storm Team 9's Extended Forecast by CLICKING HERE.
