Storm Team 9 Forecast

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Good Wednesday Afternoon! I'm Meteorologist Dontae Jones with your STORM TEAM 9 FORECAST FOR EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA: Temperatures will be up and down this week with off and on rain chances as a series of cool fronts cross eastern North Carolina.

With the recent rains, the National Weather Service has a River Flood Warning in effect for minor flooding of the Neuse River in Lenoir County.

THIS AFTERNOON:  Sunshine returns for the middle day of the work week.  However, it will be noticeably cooler with afternoon highs in the middle to upper 60's.  Northwest breezes between 10 and 20 mph will also make it feel even cooler.

TONIGHT: Cold air will filter in along with clear skies, which will help to allow the heat of the day to escape. Winds will be much calmer. Temperatures will be allowed to dip to around 40 degrees tonight, thus prompting many of us to get back out the blankets and perhaps to the furnace on again.

A LOOK AHEAD: The rest of the work week will be pleasant with plenty of sunshine on Thursday and partly cloudy skies on Friday.  Another cool front will give us a chance of scattered showers or thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening.

Afternoon temperatures will be up and down for the next 7 days as a series of cold fronts move through eastern North Carolina.  For more weather details, check out Storm Team 9's Extended Forecast by CLICKING HERE.
