Vinton man arrested in Roanoke City and County robbery cases

By Wsls-Tv Staff Reports

A Vinton man faces robbery charges in both Roanoke City and Roanoke County.

In the city, Roanoke Police say 25-year-old Zachary Lewis Meador walked into the Shell gas station in the 4800 block of Williamson Road around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2nd.  The clerk on duty told officers that Meador demanded money, then walked out.

Roanoke City officers got a description of the robber, and found Meador in the 3800 block of Williamson Road.  Police say Meador matched the description the clerk gave, and an additional investigation lead to Meador's arrest on a robbery charge.

In the county, police said on Thursday that officers charged Meador with the robbery of the 7-Eleven convenience store at 5002 Plantation Road, just after midnight on December 31, 2012.  Police say Meador stole money, then drove off.
