The economy and rural communities are benefiting from more than 10 years since the first class began at the VCOM in Blacksburg. According to research from National Center for Rural Health Works, the total VCOM economic impact for Virginia from June 2011 to June 2012 was $119,971,273.
One of the walls on the South Peak development may look like a crack but engineers say it's something else. It is two walls joined together providing support for the ground. However even though the terrace is intentional on another wall there is an unintentional fracture. The engineer of the project Michael Circeo says the crack has been there since they first worked on the wall.
Michael Heller had been charged with being an accessory after the fact in the murder of Virginia Tech student Samanata Shrestha. At a court hearing in the New River Valley today, the charges against him were dropped .Charges are still pending against Virginia tech student Jessica Ewing and graduate Keifer Brown in the case.
