Franklin County Community supports nationals bound marksmanship team

Franklin County High school's marksmanship team is on its way to compete for the national title for the second year in a row and support from the community is helping them get there.

Colonel William Carter says Arrington Sports is one of a handful of local businesses making a difference by financially supporting the marksmanship team.

This is pretty expensive program to run it's about $1,800 worth of equipment for each position and there are 16 positions on the team.

"We see that he produces quality people and very good kids, they come out and they're productive citizens in our community and [we] as a small business we try to do the same thing," explained Donna Wallace with Arrington Sports.

The majority of the team has qualified for nationals and will head to Alabama next week.

They're working hard to bring the grand prize back to Franklin County as a symbol of gratitude.
