Strong winds will return to the area this afternoon and tonight.
A High Wind Warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible, especially at the higher elevations.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for areas along and either side of the Blue Ridge from 4 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible. The worst of the winds will be seen at the higher elevations.
The winds will pick up as the storm system that brought wintry weather Friday morning moves to the northeast and gets much stronger.
