Concord, VA -
The following is information from Gleaning for the World:
The Teddy Bear Brigade, a ministry of Gleaning For The World, is
partnering once again with the Liberty University Men's Hockey Team to host their
2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss on Friday,
February 8 at the 7:00 p.m. game versus Oakland University. Fans attending the
game are asked to bring new and gently-loved stuffed animals to throw onto the
ice after the Flames score their first goal.
The Teddy Bear Brigade collects new and gently-loved stuffed animals to
send to children in need around the world. They shipped over 67,000 stuffed
animals to hurting children in 2013 alone. These went to victims of poverty in
third world countries as well as natural disasters such as Superstorm Sandy.
The TBB asks
that all stuffed animals brought to the game be soft and plushy, non-electrical
and non-scary.
The Liberty Flames Hockey team is giving away a
Playstation 3 to one lucky participant who brings a stuffed animal to the
"toss". Doors open at 6:00pm and tickets for the game are just $7. They can be
purchased by contacting the LU ticket office, visiting www.LibertyFlames.com
or at the door.
