
Why does it seem so hard to lose weight? We seem to put the pounds on so fast and then it takes forever to lose it.
Weight loss was part of the discussion at Carilion Clinic's Women's Health University luncheon Thursday. Dr. Glenn Kent talked more about psychology and food
He says there are three main factors that impact our weight, "One is biology, one is the environment or the social environment in which we live the social cues. Also, our psychology, how we think about food and how we respond to food. It is important for people to realize it is not just one thing that impacts weight. There are a host of things that impact weight and we need to be aware of all of those things."
There are several things that can get us on the right path to better health:
Resist dieting
Spend more time with your food
Spend time with people who have healthy behaviors
Pay attention to food labels
