Roanoke woman heading to The Biggest Loser Ranch in California

ROANOKE -

While she will not be a contestant on the NBC show, The Biggest Loser, Cindy Chaffins will soon have a similar experience.

Chaffins, who lives in Roanoke, is heading to The Biggest Loser Ranch in Malibu for four months, where she will take on intense workouts and dieting, with the goal of losing up to 100 pounds.

"I'm excited, nervous and scared," said Chaffins. "It's kind of like 16 weeks for 16 years, that will be added onto my life."

Chaffins leaves for the ranch this weekend and will return in June. While there, just like the contestants, she will have minimal contact with her family and friends back home.
