Lynchburg accident sends 6-year-old to hospital

LYNCHBURG, VA -

A six-year-old is in critical condition, after an accident in Lynchburg.

City police say around 1:30 p.m. Friday, a 2001 Ford F-250 pick-up truck with an attached utility trailer, hit the child in the parking lot of Gold's Gym on Wards Road.

EMTs took the child to Lynchburg General Hospital, and then flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  Police said the child was in critical but stable condition as of Friday evening.

Officers named the driver of the pick-up truck as 40-year-old David Woodruff, of Lynchburg.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
