Carroll Co. Sheriff: Body found & missing person report are related

Carroll County sheriff John Gardner said he believes a woman's body found over the weekend is related to a missing person report from late Friday night.

Gardner said deputies had been looking for Delphie Willey after finding evidence of a crime in a Woodlawn residence Friday night.

Gardner said investigators recovered a body on Saturday that he believes to be Willey.

He said the body is currently in Roanoke at the state medical examiner's office.

Deputies arrested Jesse James Owens for getting caught with a gun as a convicted felon.

Gardner said more charges, possibly including murder, are pending.
