A place of worship in Martinsville is being treated somewhat like a playground.
Reverend John Fulcher says scratched rails and chipped bricks can be seen throughout the First Baptist Church property in Martinsville.
The damage is so extensive at the church, it took Fulcher almost 30 minutes to point it all out.
He knows skateboarders are damaging the property because he sees them every day.
"it's sad to me that people would damage anyone's property, much less a church," First Baptist Church Reverend John Fulcher says.
The property damage is estimated to cost between $5-$10,000.
"We haven't repaired it at this point because we are just afraid it will happen again," Fulcher says.
They've put no skateboarding signs up, but they've just been torn down.
Fulcher says he knows not all skateboarders are to blame, but he hopes the skateboarding community will help hold each other accountable.
