Mardi Gras: A taste of the Big Easy in the Star City

February 12 is "Fat Tuesday" -- also known as Mardi Gras -- and one restaurant in Downtown Roanoke says it's ready to "Laissez les bon temps rouler." (that's Mardi Gras speak for let the good times roll!)

Local cajun / creole hotspot The Quarter is hosting a special Mardi Gras celebration Tuesday night, complete with food and drink specials, live music, live crayfish, and more.  They'll also have plenty of beads and other prizes to give away.

The restaurant says if you can't make it down to the Big Easy for Mardi Gras, The Quarter is the place to be.

"Most of the guests that have come through here that have experienced New Orleans and Mardi Gras, they say the theme and the food, we nail it every time," said Matt de Simone, a bartender / server at The Quarter.

The dinner rush begins at 5:00pm and then live music will kick off at around 7:30pm.  The staff recommends you arrive early if you want a table.
