Blacksburg child molestation suspect convicted

Posted: Updated:
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, VA -

A previously convicted sex offender is likely heading back to prison, after a judge convicted him of sexually molesting two children in Blacksburg.

According to Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney Mary Pettitt, 47-year-old Danny Dillow entered an Alford plea (a plea in which the defendant does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there's enough evidence to convict) on two charged of aggravated sexual battery in Montgomery County circuit court Tuesday.  Pettit says three other charges had to be dropped, because the five-year-old victim had moved back to China and was not able to testify.

The two charges that a judge convicted Dillow of stem from incidents on April 21, 2012 and June 2, 2012.

In the April incident, investigators say Dillow put his hand on the lower private area of an 11-year-old girl at the Blacksburg Public Library, while she was reading.

In the June incident, police say Dillow grabbed the backside of a seven-year-old girl, as she shopped with her mother at the Kroger on South Main Street.

Police say Dillow admitted to the library incident.

Dillow will stay in jail until he is sentenced on May 7th.  He faces up to 40 years in prison
