Goodwill launches new program to help women find jobs

ROANOKE -

A $7.7 million dollar grant from the Walmart Foundation is allowing Goodwill Industries of the Valleys to launch a new program to help women find jobs.

The program is called, "Beyond Jobs," and will help both underemployed and unemployed women from Roanoke to the Alleghany Highlands. The goal is to enroll up to 300 women in the year long program.

Goodwill held a resource fair to launch the program on February 13, 2013. They will be able to offer a variety of resources, from GED classes, financial planning and even appearance, and appropriate work attire.

Women interested in enrolling for Beyond Jobs should stop by or call the Goodwill Melrose Jobs Campus, at 2502 Melrose Avenue, NW, Suite B, in Roanoke.
