TRAFFIC ALERT: Botetourt County Route 11 closure for APCo transformer move

BOTETOURT COUNTY, VA -

VDOT news release

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 11 will be closed between its intersection with Route 220 and Cloverdale in Botetourt County.

American Electric Power (AEP) will transport a transformer from Route 11 near Cloverdale to Old Route 604 in Troutville. The closure is expected to be in place for approximately 30 minutes.

Additionally the following areas will be closed during the move:

  • Exit150A ramp leading from northbound Interstate 81 to southbound Route 220
  • Route 11 and Route 220/Route 220 Alternate intersection

Police will control traffic in the area. Drivers should seek an alternate route. Message boards along I-81 will be in place to notify motorists.
