Pulaski County school leaders ask for 8 more SROs

Pulaski County school leaders plan to ask the county board of supervisors for enough money to pay for eight more school resource officers, according to the school district's central emergency planning team recommendations.

Right now, the only school resource officer in the county works full-time at Pulaski County High School in Dublin.

The committee estimated that hiring eight additional SROs would cost $621,000 the first year, and then $405,000 annually after that.

The committee submitted several immediate recommendations, such as spending $16,000 to install those door entry systems at each school.
