Advance Auto Monster Jam: Monster trucks, monster hearts

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam roars into Roanoke Friday and Saturday, giving people the chance to experience some of the biggest, baddest machines in the land.  But underneath the metal and horsepower are monster sized hearts.

During their stay in Roanoke, the trucks and their drivers will make all kinds of public appearances, including school and hospital visits.  Advance Auto Parts Grinder driver John Seasock is also teaming up with Big Brothers / Big Sisters to adopt a little for the day, who will get to hang out with him, get a behind the scenes tour of Monster Jam, and enjoy the show.

"I think no matter what you do in life, it's important to give back to the community," said Seasock.  "At the end of the day, we're all the same kind of people.  We all have the same type of struggles that we have to go through.  And if we all work together, we can make the world a better place."

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam will take place at the Roanoke Civic Center Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 2:00pm and 7:30pm.  The family friendly event will feature eight of wildest automobiles you've ever seen including Grave Digger, Grinder, Superman, and El Toro Loco.  They'll be doing everything from racing to free styling, and popping wheelies.

"All of the courage comes from the fans," said Seasock.  "We say it on TV all the time how much they mean to us and that's the truth.  We feed off their energy.  The louder they cheer in the stands, the higher we jump these trucks."

Tickets are still available for all shows.  Prices start at $22 for adults and only $6.50 for kids.  You can purchase tickets at the Roanoke Civic Center box office or online at hometownbanktix.com.
