A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until midnight for Charlotte and Halifax Counties.
Snow showers are expected across the area today.
The rain and snow from this morning will change to snow heading into the afternoon hours today as temperatures drop.
Many areas are expected to see very little in the way of snow with a dusting to a half inch possible.
Areas along and east of Highway 29 could see a bit more with one to two inches possible.
As of 2 p.m., Charlotte and Halifax Counties has seen between a half and one inch of snow with up to one inch still possible.
Snow in many areas should be gone between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday.
The western slopes of the mountains could see additional snowfall as well with snow showers here not tapering off until midday Sunday. An additional one to two inches is possible.
